Paper people is a Mysterium tradition where people who can't make it sent pictures of themselves to be there in their place. There is usually a group picture taken with all of the paper people. You can still get yours in. Send your jpg to eleri@mysterium.net by Friday AM!

A warm hello from the Guild of Healers.

Guild of Healers:

Our small group has been around since January, 2008, working slowly and carefully to restore the Guild of Healers. There isn't much information about this guild, but it was one of the 18 major guilds in the Cavern. Given that healing in all its forms was as important to the D'ni as to us, the Healers would have had a large, if quiet, presence in the Cavern. We don't, but we do think that we might be able to offer something of service to the general explorer Community.

You are cordially invited you to join us in our discussions and future plans. Our restoration efforts are still taking shape, and this is a great time to be involved in our development. We see ourselves working closely with other guilds and other groups in the community to foster well being and harmony (with care and a healthy dose of humor). Although we won't attempt to create a "utopia" (humans and D'ni alike are far too intelligent for that), we are discussing the possibility of a Ceremonial Age which the D'ni may have used for such events as weddings, memorials, celebrations (although not large events like St. Pat's parade), group conversations, individual contemplations, and walking meditations. If something like this interests you, we would love to have your input.

RAWA Lays Down Age Creation Guidelines

RAWA, one of Cyan's expert's on Myst canon, has set out a set of guidelines regarding fan-created Ages.

These guidelines, while still in progress, are fairly clear on the do's and dont's of fan Age creation, and their interaction with the stories of the Myst universe.

The Five Rules of Writing, in their most basic form:

1 - Writers must live within the D'ni limitations of Writing.

2 - Writers must not break continuity with previously released D'ni information.

3 - Writers must not reveal "new" information about characters, places, groups, etc. used by Cyan.

4 - Writers must limit "new" information about D'ni society to specific, smaller groups within D'ni.

5 - Writers must not use the intellectual property of others.

The post in its entirety, plus all other related discussion, can be read at the below link, at the Myst Online forums.
